Maybelline Haul!

So another weekend has just passed and of course, typical me I spent Sunday at Chadstone just browsing around not really looking for anything in particular. While in Priceline, I couldnt believe my eyes. ALL Maybelline mascaras were $10! and i mean all. I don't think i've ever come across that kind of deal before. Generally, I think mascaras are always overpriced way beyond what I know they should be, *hint hint, U.S anyone?* but I always just gave in and bought 1 or 2 anyway. But I couldn't walk past this deal so I actually picked up only two.

I somehow thought that I wanted more but mascaras tend to last me awhile and I have a few tubes to get through anyway. The Full 'N Soft is my go-to mascara everyday. It's been my favourite since I first ever tried it years ago. It nicely separates my lashes and isn't too thickening so it's perfect for my everyday when I go to work. It's also very light in texture and feeling so I dont feel like it's dragging down my lashes ultimately making my eyes droop cos I find some mascaras can do that to me.
I also picked up the Falsies Volum Express mascara only because I couldnt decide which other one to get. There are just so many! And I didnt have time to jump on my phone and skim through reviews haha, so I took my chances and went for this one, fingers cross I like it! I'm really tempted to pick up some more as well for fear that the sale will be over and I'll regret it!

Something else that caught my eye..

Finally! About time they made it to Australia and boy was I excited and what's more, I was quite surprised by the price. I expected something at least near the $20 mark but they're actually being sold for $11.50 in Priceline, amazing!
This time I spent a lot longer trying to decide which colours to purchase by figuring out which ones I was likely to use. Although, I think in the long run I'll end up getting them all just because they look so nice! And swatching them in the store, they're so nicely and vibrantly pigmented and creamy, I was very impressed. What's more is that they're lasting power was pretty amazing, 1 day later and having washed my hands several times I can still see the swatch marks all over my hands.

The first one I picked up was Tough as Taupe,  I like taupe everything so it was only natural that I picked this up. I also thought it would work nice as a base for a dark smokey as I prefer brown rather than black.

Audacious Ashphalt wasn't one that I was really eyeing, I actually almost picked walked away with the purple one but thought I'd swatch this one anyway and I'm so glad I did! it's such a pretty grey/silver with glitter/shimmer but very finely. I wasn't sure what look to do with it but I'm sure I can figure something out, it was just too pretty to put down.

Lastly, Tenacious Teal. I had to at least get one that was a bright colour and blue seemed the way to go for me. I think i always go for safe colours so I'm definitely going back to pick up the other ones. This is a really bright and vibrant sparkly blue. I think it would work well as a liner for a pop of colour. I'm so excited to wear these out!

Queen's Birthday Retail Therapy

Come and gone was our last long weekend for another good 4 months or so and what better way to spend it than to go shopping. Actually, I really had nothing else to do and I couldnt stand staying in bed for another day so off to Chadstone I went. I wasn't really looking for anything in particular but like that has ever stopped me! I did manage to pick up a few things that I'm happy with.
First thing was this pack from Lancome:

I already had sample sizes of the Hydra Zen Moisturizer and the Galateis Douceur from a promotion some months ago and I really loved them that I had planned to buy the full sized products when I had the chance but they're actually quite expensive my themselves that I never had the courage to splurge on them. From memory, the full size of the Galateis Douceur cleansing fluid for the face & eyes is around $65-$70 which in my opinion was a little excessive for make up remover but I did love it a lot. I havent even finished my sample size as I've been using it sparingly only for when I am wearing heavy eye make up. That goes the same for my sample size of the moisturizer which i am slowly running out of, I have about 3 days worth left. So thank goodness today whilst browsing through Myer, Lancome had a few specials on. There were a bunch of eye shadows and skincare products on a clearance table but nothing really caught my eye, except for this pack which was on sale for $85. The Hydra Zen comes in a 50ml size and the toner and cleanser come in both at 125ml. I havent actually tried the toner before so i'm excited to try it out but as soon as i came across this pack i knew i had to get it as 2 out of 3 products I am already using and loving so there was no way i could walk past this.
The thing I love about the Hydra Zen Moisturizer is that it leaves my skin feeling hydrated all day. It doesnt feel oily or sticky but rather smooth and refreshed. It doesnt feel like my pores are clogged like other moisturizers tend to do for me so it'd be hard for me if i had to switch.
The Galateis Douceur cleansing fluid is amazing! I loved it from the first time I ever tried the sample. I use it on a cleansing pad and just swipe it over my face and eye make up and everything just wipes straight off. Not only that but it leaves the skin feeling so smooth and soft and you can actually feel like its being moisturized while taking off your make up. It's a refreshing feeling and i just love it. So happy i have a bigger bottle.

Another product I picked up is something I've recently come across from a friend of mine. If you're clumsy like me, then this might just be your saviour. Introducing the Hollywood Stain Remover Pen:

This product has seriously become my new best friend. I picked it up in Priceline for $5.99 and just keep it in my handbag and can guarantee it will come in handy. I go out a lot to eat and just in general spill lots of random things all over my clothes and the last thing i want is little food stains in random places all over my clothes. My friend introduced me to this one day when i was annoyed at my self for splattering noodle soup all over my work top and she pulled this out of her bag and told me to use it. I did, and boy was I impressed. It had completely disappeared and so from there, I made a mental note to get myself one of these life savers. I took the liberty to doing a demo for you guys to see and judge for yourself what you think and maybe it'll be a life saver for you too :)

1. I splattered some soya sauce onto a t-shirt - common thing to do right?

2. Placing the pen onto the stain, just gently push down to let the product come out

3. Keep pushing on the pen until the stain liquid remover covers over all the of the stain area

4. When you're done it should look like a wet patch - i know it doesnt look very appealing but wait for it..

5. Drying... 5 mins later..

6. 10 minutes later and done! no more stain, a complete life saver!

So if you're like me and find yourself spoiling your clothes with random stains then I recommend you pick one of these up, you won't regret it :)

Finally, to finish of this blog post, just a random non beauty related item, I bought this work dress. I love the design and colour and the fit of it just flatters my body and i fell in love! For $45 I couldnt put it down:

Shoes, Shoes, Shoes!

So to start of my 'welcome back to blogging' post I just wanted to share with you guys two pairs of heels that i recently picked up! If you live in Melbourne you'll know where I'm talking about. The first pair i picked up a few weeks ago during the Chadstone VIP sale, i was actually struggling that night to find something, anything i liked and i came across this pair of heels and it just caught my eye, but not only that, it looked even nicer on and even though i had no real reason for a new pair of heels i couldnt resist the deal. i think it went from its original price of $79.99 down to $55.00. I couldnt walk away from it so.. i bought it :)

Also, yesterday i went to the Tony Bianco warehouse sale down at Collingwood, I actually wasn't planning to go as I really don't need more shoes and especially heels, I dont really go out too much that I would need countless pairs of heels but as it turns out, I can't resist hype and this sale was getting a lot of hype so typical me, I dragged my bf along and ended up waiting in line to get in, crazy right?! The wait wasn't too long though and actually I was a little disappointed as prior to going in I saw girls walking out with bags and bags of shoes and handbags, but my experience was a little more plain and i ended up leaving with just one pair of shoes. I actually found a few pairs i did like but funnily enough they were all in the same colour so i couldnt justify getting different pairs of shoes in the same colour. Oh well, i was still happy with my purchase :) These were $40 and are super comfy!

Now I really need to lay off the shoe shopping, here's hoping i stay away from shoe stores for awhile!
